TrashHack – a Hackathon powered by Let’s Do It, Romania!

There are people passionate about technology and there are people who love taking care of the environment. We bring them together at the same table to build amazing solutions for a cleaner world. About the event

The TrashHack hackathon in Bucharest is a cooperation project between Let’s Do It! World, Let’s Do It, Romania!, and QUALITANCE, as technology partner.

This year, QUALITANCE developed for World Cleanup Day 2018 a platform to help volunteers place on map location of piles they found in nature. The organizers aim to have a trash map for World Cleanup Day which will take place on September 15th, 2018 and will gather 350.000.000 people from 150 countries (5% percent of the population). The solution built so far consists of a mobile application for Android and iOS, a web application to be used by organizers and a backend API. The Backend API uses microservice written in Node, Express, Swagger and Seneca. The web app uses React, and the mobile app uses React Native. The repository is at https://github.com/letsdoitworld/World-Cleanup-Day
