Startup stories with no happy end

Come to listen to the stories of those that worked on an unsuccessful startup and learn from their mistakes. RSVP here to save your front row place on June 7th, starting 6:30 PM!

About the event

TechHub Bucharest wants to dig deeper in the “fail fast -> learn quick” culture, by inviting a few entrepreneurs that had a first-hand experience with building a startup that had to be closed at one point.

We are aware that anyone can discuss (and brag) about success, but it takes something special to talk about failure. Learning from those that have the strength to share the struggles of an unsuccessful startup and listening to the lessons they learned during the process is of incredible value to anybody that is currently working on or planning to have their own startup.

About the speakers

Cristi Munteanu has founded Qalendra, a startup that was building a service that automated travel research, improved results better than any human expert, and delivered it instantly on any platform. The algorithms ingested data from many sources, compared all destinations at once, and identified where the best conditions for vacations and activities were, anywhere in the world, up to 4 months in advance. Qalendra was a great lesson on how to build a startup from zero, move it from Romania to the USA, join an accelerator, build a top-tier board of directors and fundraise on Sand Hill Road.

Bogdan Predusca has co-founded Getfittter, a platform that connected customers with world renowned health & fitness coaches. Getfittter wanted to empower people to live a better day and a healthier life by providing the tools and motivation to incorporate healthy habits in their everyday lives. The experience has taught Bogdan that in a startup you need to know your customer, story, market and competition, you shouldn’t fear big bets and taking risks, and most important: your first startup is not the only chance you’ve got, so you should not be afraid to fail.
