About the event

Elevator Lab Bootcamp 2019 ends with the fintech startups showcasing their products on stage in front of a panel of industry professionals, startup founders and investors.

During the Bootcamp, founding teams in their first stage of development have received a quick intro into the startup world from experienced mentors who are actual startup founders. They learned how to validate their startup idea, what it takes to implement the customer and business development process, what are the startup legal mechanics, and how to tailor and deliver their startup pitch.

Startup Weekend Bucharest I Fintech Edition

What is Startup Weekend?

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 3000 past events in 135 countries around the world.

This is the fifth edition of Startup Weekend Bucharest and the first specialized edition – we are working on Fintech solutions.

 

Who can participate?

Anybody who is interested in Fintech. If you have an idea on how Blockchain, Big Data, AI and other technologies can be used to solve financial sectors issues, come and pitch! Both industry experts and people with less experience, but a lot of enthusiasm can join and form teams around an idea.

 

How does it work?

Participants that have an idea, get 1 minute to pitch. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54-hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a co-founder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups.

  3. Education for future” is an alternative educational center build to respond to the lack of interconnection between school and real-life needs. Through its activities the center wants to build a new education framework based on the trio Savoir – Savoir etre – Savoir faire on which the French education model is based, in order to offer to the students the possibility to develop the skills that are necessary on the labor market in 2030 or in any time when technology has an increasing impact on human life.   5. OlirO is a spin-off from the Sibus platform, which has been operating in Romania since May 2014. OlirO helps the client find quality providers within a wide range of services, provides market perspective for the client and creates pricing transparency.

MyAntiques Market wants to make a global book publishing platform to be found by collectors through an innovative browser that will include a database of all the leading authors in history, grouped on literary currents, the country of origin, the time they have lived, and specialization for each writer (poet, philosopher, historian, etc.). Here is the prototype. They know the market they are addressing, having all the contacts they need, after a search of more than 4 years.

  7. Mr. Adam is a gamified learning app that is currently helping parents improve their parenting skills. The beta version of the app is out on both stores and they have plans to expand the app to other self-development markets. The content of the app is created by Professor Thomas Hills and they are currently part of the Future Makers incubator.
