Ionut Moldovanu is a tech enthusiast focused on hardware development, working in the past in research projects in partnership with European Space Agency and providing several other industrial companies with consultancy work regarding the IoT field. He became interested in 3D printing technologies in 2013 and started designing and printing components in 2014, at the very beginning of #D printing in Romania. He also worked at the first Romanian company printing professional 3D elements. So far, Ionut has used more than 20 printer models and technologies for domains ranging from hobby, agriculture (tractor parts) to parts for the European Space Agency.

The 12-factor app methodology represents a best practice when comes to cloud application development and for the past years, many developers employ it in order to facilitate both their current and future work. Kubernetes, with its cloud-agnostic container deployments, complements the 12 factors apps with their flavors across frameworks and cloud providers. This presentation is intended for all those curious on how to manipulate their code and Kubernetes as well in its use as a developer but also as operational. Each of the principles will be illustrated by a demo.

Ana-Maria is a custom application development enthusiast, co-founder of Bucharest Software Craftsmanship Community and a constant adopter of challenging technical scenarios. In 2016, as tech passionate about cloud application development she achieved IBM Certified Application Developer – Cloud Platform v1. Since then, she has enriched her cloud expertise by learning and certifying as a Salesforce Developer and attained a better understanding of how to integrate different types of cloud offerings. Other passions? The knowledge hunt through reading and growing fashion skills through shopping.

John Carvalho and Felix Crisan will discuss upcoming protocol changes ( or rather protocol changes proposals, as it’s likely that some of them won’t make it in the Bitcoin Core releases) and what benefits will they bring (if/when they are adopted).

This means we’ll discuss Schnorr signatures, Taproot, MAST and Graftroot, but we’ll also touch upon some Lightning Network specific proposals such as Eltoo as well as changes to BOLT specs.

Security Espresso 0x1d

This month Security Espresso has a special event format: a live coding session! RSVP here to save your front row spot on July 25, starting at 18:30!

 

About the event

Security Espresso is organizing a joint event, alongside the Bucharest Functional Programming community. Don’t miss out on this one because it’s got a little treat for everyone: for the coders, the pentesters, the imperative folks, the functional crew, the nay-sayers and the enthusiasts alike!

They will be implementing a basic HTTP server in order to showcase common security issues and how to overcome them in an FP fashion. The presentation will mostly be live coding. The audience will be able to pentest the server, and we will look into fixing the problems.

Some familiarity with the Haskell syntax is assumed. It would also be helpful to skim through the conduit tutorial.
