April comes with a twist and two important subjects for the startuppers out there: financial and legal management.RSVP and let’s meet on April 22, starting at 18:50!
About the speakers
Andrei Rosca lived the entrepreneurial roller-coaster since he was 17. More than enough years to realize that excels, P&Ls, cashflows are critical for a business, while keeping sane, both physically and mentally. Also, he disliked accounting since forever, so in the beginning, he searched for classes like “Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers”. That’s what the workshop is all about – a short introduction into startup financial control tools, from a person who is not an accountant, CFO or financial consultant. He is an entrepreneur sharing his experiences. Both pleasant and unpleasant.
Nicoleta Almaj is the Managing partner of Almaj, Iordache SCA, technology and energy industries-specialized law firm. She has been a business lawyer for more than 15 years, and her practice is currently focused on new technologies. Together with her colleagues, she is working on legal issues regarding transactional matters, M&A, IP, online platforms, FinTech, blockchain, complex IT contract, app development etc.
“I have an entrepreneurial DNA and in the last years, I’ve presented myself as a change strategist. Ergo, I help people change. Some run entrepreneurial organizations that also change the world. And, whether we like it or not, changing the world starts (or ends) with a P&L.”
20:00 – 21:00 – Legal made easy for Tech Startups (Nicoleta Almaj)
“I propose to the Tech Startup community, an easy, palatable and business-oriented introduction to critical legal tools. The necessary tools to avoid or solve the most frequent risks that entrepreneurs encounter when developing a tech company.”
Kafka Streams is the easiest way to write scalable stream processing microservices. In this presentation, I will go over the architecture of Kafka Streams, will explain KStream and KTable – their differences and similarities and the local storage of Kafka Streams, how we can make joins between streams and tables and how to aggregate objects based on events grouped by id. Basically is about processing and joining infinite database tables.
19:20 – 20:00 Cassandra 4.0 – What to Expect, Aleks Volochnev, Developer Advocate @ Datastax
Apache Cassandra has been a driving force for applications that scale for over 10 years. This open-source database now powers 30% of the Fortune 100. Now is your chance to get an inside look, guided by the company that’s responsible for 85% of the code commits. You won’t want to miss this deep dive into the database that has become the power behind the moment — the force behind game-changing, scalable cloud applications.
Women Techmakers Romania is inviting the community to share their superpowers – those special qualities that make you shine. RSVP and let’s meet on March 12, starting at 18:30!
Event agenda
18:30 – 18:50 Registration
18:50 – 19:00 Opening from the community organizers
19:00 – 19:30 Own your path | Roxana Raicu
19:30 – 19:45 Qualitative data analysis | Catalina Dumitru
Working across disciplines and cultures is complex, particularly in project teams. Building and maintaining trust between team members alleviates the challenges of project work by increasing perceptions of similarity, reducing information complexity, managing multiple reporting, and developing team reflexivity. By analyzing interview and observation data from several project teams in Germany and Singapore, I offer a description of trust practices that build and maintain trust in teams in different cultures.
19:45 – 20:15 Quality guidelines for mobile apps | Rafaela Voiculescu
Two of my passions are business and programming, two areas that I discovered distinctively: the former in university and the latter almost a decade later. The decision I took to pick up programming lead me to work for one of the most well-known tech companies, Facebook, as a Solutions Engineer a role that constantly challenges me and offers me countless opportunities to grow in both areas. In my current role I work closely with top gaming companies that integrate in-app advertising across the two mobile platforms: Android and iOS. On the business side some of my past roles took me on a deep dive into consulting, logistics, finance and sales. My superpower is receiving and acting on feedback.
BucharestFP invites you to talk about the contributions to the world of formal verification, using the open-source K framework. RSVP and let’s meet on March 10, starting at 18:45!
About the event
This talk will be a brief introduction to K by example and by comparison with Haskell. We’ll start by discussing the programming language IMP, with some demonstrations of programs in this language. Then we’ll show how to make an interpreter for this language in Haskell, including a parser and evaluation engine.
Finally, we’ll transition to a K interpreter for this language, and show how in addition to an interpreter, K gives a symbolic execution engine that can be used to do program verification. Any remaining time can be used to try things live and for further discussions about what verification is.
About the speaker
Everett Hildenbrandt is a Formal Modelling Engineer and Product Owner at Runtime Verification, Inc (a software quality assurance firm). He currently works mostly with KEVM, a K semantics of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) https://github.com/kframework/evm-semantics. He believes strongly in a semantics-first approach to designing and building the tooling around programming languages.
Event agenda
18:45 — 19:00 Welcome
19:00 — 20:00 Everett Hildenbrandt — Side-by-side implementation of an IMP language in K and Haskell
