Protractor automation framework

The first “Tabara de Testare” meetup of the year will focus on the Protractor framework. RSVP here to save your front row place on January 11, starting 6:30 PM!

 

About the event

The meetup will focus on the technologies used by Protractor (NodeJS, Jasmine, JavaScript, TypeScript), the steps to take in building a Protractor framework, how to write simple tests and how to integrate with Mock-Server in order to isolate UI tests from API tests.

Sorin has 11+ years of testing experience, evolving from manual testing to test automation and QA framework developer, having multiple developed frameworks in portfolio such as: framework based on Python + Tcl used to test networking equipment (switches/routers); framework based on Java, Scala, BDD, REST services, database access used to test a complex software module; framework based on Protractor, TypeScript/JavaScript, Jasmine, MockServer used to test Angular websites.

About the speakers

Sebastian Cochinescu is a tech entrepreneur with extended experience in the media industry that has a crush on blockchain and cybersecurity technologies. He is also a PhD candidate on blockchain studies at the University of Bucharest and the CIO of CyberSwarm Inc.

Vlad Andrei is focused on the fintech and blockchain revolution and is currently working on a stealth blockchain startup as the founder of HighTechBlock – a blockchain/fintech development consulting firm. He is a Stanford alumni and has worked at two companies that were acquired by Oracle and Symantec.

Tudor Stanciu is working with top business law firms and has hands-on experience in dealing with the tech industry, as a bearer of several hats – lawyer, advisor, community manager and fintech/legaltech project builder. Currently he is building Fintech Camp and Digital2Law.

About the speakers

Adrian Segoia is Co-founder and President of Asociația Segoia (NGO). He is the lead developer and product manager of “Panoul de Bord” mobile application, that has as a short-term goal facilitating civic involvement by making it really easy for citizens to send petitions and requests to public institutions, with a perspective of adding other types of civic services in the future.

Bogdan Avram is a software developer and now a volunteer in the “The hero among us” project, where he saved lives, not just code lines.

Dan Vornicu is a Computer Science student and volunteer for the program. After almost 100 medical events he has intervened, he joined the tech team, so that his skills have a double impact.

ngBucharest Special winter meetup with Simona Cotin

About the event

It is the last event of the year for the ngBucharest community and they have prepared a special edition. For this special winter meetup, the guests will be Simona Cotin – Cloud Developer Advocate @Microsoft and Andrei Antal – Frontend Engineer at Qualitance. They will talk about the latest technologies in the Angular and JavaScript world and Microsoft Romania will provide pizza and drinks. Also, JSGirls and Codette will be Diversity Partners for this event.

It’s been an exciting year for Angular (and the JavaScript ecosystem in general) but Andrei wants for the last talk of the year to take a look forward at the emerging technologies of the future. The Angular team just launched Angular Labs with a goal to more clearly communicate the new explorations by the team. One of this experiments is Angular Elements – a way to embed angular elements into any application without needing Angular. Meanwhile, the Ionic team just released Stencil, a compiler that generates standards-compliant web components. Already intrigued? Good 😃 Let’s explore the future together!
