About the event

Let’s start the week with some inspiration from Raghu Raghuram – one of Silicon Valley’s tech veterans and angel investors. During his short visit in Bucharest, Raghu has agreed to meet with the local startup & tech community to learn about the Romanian entrepreneurial challenges & opportunities, and to share from his very own experience.

This is going to be a casual meeting, where you get to find the answers to your questions about the Silicon Valley startup scene, or insights about investment and the angel investors’ selection criteria. You can also learn about go-to-market approaches, product management for enterprise and consumer software, cloud services technologies in the areas of infrastructure, platforms and machine intelligence, alongside many other amazing things Raghu has mastered along the years.

 

About the speaker

Raghu has been in the game from the early beginning with product management and marketing roles at pioneering companies such as AOL, Bang Networks and Netscape. Since 2003 he has joined VMware and currently is the Chief Operating Officer for Products and Cloud Services.

During his tenure at VMware, Raghuram has held multiple leadership roles including: leading the company’s software-defined data center business, the cloud infrastructure and led worldwide product marketing, product management and business planning for VMware’s virtual infrastructure.

He’s also a successful angel investor in the Valley, happy to consider opportunities from the CEE region as well.

About the event

RoboCode is a coding competition, where participants will program virtual robots (in Java) to battle each other. The event is happening simultaneously in 4 cities: Berlin (DE), Brașov (RO), Bucharest (RO), Dusseldorf (DE). The battles are running in real-time and can be visualized on the screen.

Anyone can enter the competition, no matter the programming level, and you can participate either alone or in pairs.

Protractor automation framework

About the event

The meetup will focus on the technologies used by Protractor (NodeJS, Jasmine, JavaScript, TypeScript), the steps to take in building a Protractor framework, how to write simple tests and how to integrate with Mock-Server in order to isolate UI tests from API tests.

Sorin has 11+ years of testing experience, evolving from manual testing to test automation and QA framework developer, having multiple developed frameworks in portfolio such as: framework based on Python + Tcl used to test networking equipment (switches/routers); framework based on Java, Scala, BDD, REST services, database access used to test a complex software module; framework based on Protractor, TypeScript/JavaScript, Jasmine, MockServer used to test Angular websites.
