The UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) are a national trade body for angel and early stage investments. representing over 160 member organisations and around 18,000 investors in the UK. As business angels in the UK collectively invest c.£1.5 billion per annum they are the UK’s largest source of investment for startups and early-stage businesses. UKBAA’s members include angel network s, syndicates, individual investors, early-stage VCs, equity crowdfunding platforms, accelerators, professional advisers and intermediaries. UKBAA acts as the voice of the angel investment community and strives to build and connect the angel investment ecosystem so as to ensure a coherent landscape for financing high-potential entrepreneurs.

Roderick was recently appointed as the Strategic Relations Director for the UK Business Angel Association. The Association’s focus is on growing and supporting the early stage investment ecosystem through a nationwide programme of education and collaboration. It does this through its 213 syndicate, network and crowd funding members and an 18,000 strong investor reach.

Before that, Roderick’s career started running the operations for Beer & Partners, whilst it grew to be the largest, regulated private investment network in the UK, securing over £80m for more than 500 businesses. After setting up an entrepreneurial division within a crowdfunding network he then went on to join the team at Ruffena Capital as their COO at the very beginning of 2014.
