Lunchtime talk: Making the international leap with Allan Rooney

We are delighted to welcome to our stage Allan Rooney, Partner at Roooney Nimmo for a conversation about Going Global. Allan and his team on both sides of the Atlantic have helped hundreds of companies to scale internationally. With the firm’s international expertise and experience, Rooney Nimmo is able to offers its clients a global launchpad to help them maximise their potential growth and connect with key stakeholders. Recent expansion into Asia has given the firm a launchpad into a huge new market. Allan will share his insights into the challenges and opportunities of making the international leap, and the particularities of internationalisation. Landing in a new market with a ready-made network increases the chances of getting big, selling big.

Allan Rooney is a graduate of the Edinburgh University Law School, where he graduated with honours. He also studied at the University of Texas Law School in Austin, Texas. Upon relocating to New York, Allan worked as a commodities trader before beginning his legal career at Deloitte & Touche LLP. At Deloitte, his practice concentrated on international tax and compensation issues and securities-related matters, advising several Fortune 50 companies. He later worked at a boutique, commercial litigation and corporate firm where he tried cases and represented corporate clients. With the backing of his clients, Allan founded his own firm in 2007, later merging with Nimmo WS to form Rooney Nimmo. He attributes the firm’s growth and success to its commitment to providing the highest possible level of client service, coupled with sophisticated business-focused legal advice.
