Legal issues with raising funds, shareholders and commercial agreements

Join us for this Lunchtime Workshop where we invite Simon Halberstam, from west-end law firm SMAB who will be running through legal issues re fundraising, shareholder agreements, IPR, and commercial agreements with suppliers and customers.
SMAB provide high level and specialist corporate advice to a wide range of clients including: companies, professional partnerships, directors, founders and investors and lenders who are active both in the UK and internationally. They work with start-ups and established international businesses and cover all their corporate requirements, from structuring their equity and corporate governance to advising on directors’ duties and the terms of joint ventures, acquisitions and sales.
SMAB advise start-ups, scale-ups and listed companies, including digital agencies, UK publishers and media companies, web based service companies and national charities. They provide specialist advice from conventional tech and online advice to FinTech, EdTech and RetailTech and cover the latest tech developments from bots to quantum computing.
They have particular expertise in tech and online agreements, app development and managed services and advise on all aspects of consumer and business issues, as well as data protection.
SMAB work closely with tech entrepreneurs, founders, and senior management of established tech companies and advise on restructuring, employee share options, fundraising, joint ventures as well as helping them to negotiate exit and sale often to private equity houses, and US and other international investors.
Simon holds English and French Law degrees and has over 25 years of experience acting for technology providers and digital agencies. His work is focused on the drafting and negotiation of contracts for those providing or procuring technology or digital services and advising on Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), GDPR and all aspects of Intellectual Property and data protection law.
