Winner of the 'I Want TechHub' video competition

By Elizabeth Varley
At long last we're announcing the winner of our 'I Want TechHub' video competition.

If you missed it, we asked people to tell us, on video in 60 seconds why they want TechHub to be in with a chance to win free membership of TechHub London for a year.

Loads responded and the answers were funny, smart, quirky or considered, but above all edifying. You made it clear that you really want TechHub! Thank you to everyone who took part, we have a special offer for you below.

We had a great time watching all the videos but a really difficult time choosing a winner. So we've chosen six. Couldn't help ourselves (and we'd love to choose more!).

So... (drumroll please)...the winners are...

Chris Steiner of Siondo @ChrisSteiner
For getting a tuk-tuk driver in India in on the act

Bastian Lehmann of curated.by @Basti
For doing a rap backwards

Max Niederhofer of qwer.ly @maxniederhofer
For all the accents and 'where's my jetpack?'

Basheera Khan of Playnice.ly @Bash
For intimating that TechHub Members will take over the world

Tim Morgan of Picklive @thetimmorgan
For the hilarious pathos and the look right at the end

Ela Madej of Applicake @ElaMadej
For involving their entire team, for the guy wearing a chef's hat and for everyone dancing at the end.

To all those who entered but didn't win, we'd like to offer a free day of co-working to say thanks for the support and creativity. We love you guys! To book in your day, email charlie[at]techhub.com and include a link to the post of your video on the TechHub blog.

Chris Steiner:

By Elizabeth Varley

Chris Steiner from Siondo likes TechHub for the opportunities it presents to connect entrepreneurs, investors and the media, also because TechHub Rocks!

Apparently his driver thinks TechHub rocks as well, and they're in India. It's possible that the driver is acting I suppose, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

TechHub update - exciting stuff!

By Elizabeth Varley

Well, we're eating, breathing and sleeping TechHub at the moment, getting things ready to open our doors as soon as possible.

We've been chatting to government again, at the UKTI and we have a meeting with Lord Davies coming up, and we're talking to companies that want to come on board as founding partner sponsors.

Some exciting companies are interested in getting involved, and we're still open to new approaches. Whether you want to engage with the start-up community, you offer products or services just perfect for small and growing tech companies, or you're a large corporate that wants to tap into the innovation culture, get in touch to have a chat.

We're hoping to see TechHub London opening in late March, so keep an eye out here and@TechHub for publication of our desk and membership rates, and the launch of our founder memberships. Thanks to everyone who's emailed, eager to snap up one of the limited memberships - there'll be news very soon!

As so many of you have submitted fabulous videos telling us why you want TechHub, I leave you with this video featuring my less-than-glamorous early-morning visage as I work from bed at far too early on a weekend morning...

User Experience expert and technology journalist/blogger Basheera "Bash" Khan is worried. She's worried that if you put technology people, developers, investors and entrepreneurs together all together in one space, quite simply anything could happen. This could be dangerous...
