TechHub Global: LAMP developer - we're hiring!

By Elizabeth Varley

We're looking for someone to join our great Global team at TechHub. We launched 18 months ago and in that short time have had a huge amount of media coverage and interest from the tech startup community. We're committed to making a difference to tech startups in London and beyond, and have some very exciting announcements on the horizon about new international locations. We just opened in Riga, Latvia and in March we'll be moving (very close by) to a new location - we're growing really fast and we want you to be part of our success.

We are looking for a superstar LAMP (PHP) developer with Drupal/CRM/front end experience. The position will most likely take the form of a freelance contract leading to a permanent place on the team. You'll need to be super flexible, quick on your feet, able to multitask and be ready to get stuck in no matter what the challenge. We are looking for someone who is happy to learn new stuff as necessary and really understands the benefit of taking a can-do attitude to development. This is a great opportunity for someone with an excellent eye for detail.

If you're successful, speedy advancement is definitely an option - as first developer in, you could end up heading a team working on our international infrastructure. There are huge possibilities for the right person!

This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently graduated or has had a few jobs and is looking for a new challenge. Salary is negotiable

Core duties:

  • Take our almost finished new-website-in-waiting and do whatever is necessary to get it up on the web as soon as humanly possible.
  • Plan and implement a program of regular updates to the scope and functionality of our online offering to reflect our rapid international growth
  • Design and develop our international community collaboration software & social network
  • Manage and streamline our growing CRM database
  • Train and support our international operators in use of our online suite and CRM

Role description:

  • This role will be full time with moderately flexible hours. If arriving at 10:30 works better for you than 9am, thats fine.
  • Working on-site at TechHub London in City Rd, London EC1Y 2BJ.

We want you to be an essential member of the TechHub team and we’ll be relying on you to be innovative, both a team player but able to act autonomously where necessary. You’ll be genuinely valued – we want the benefit of your experience, skills and expertise to help us shape how the our international network is run, the processes that need to be put in place, and to come up with ideas to make TechHub even better. As this role is very important to the company, we're looking for someone who wants to join the team on a permanent, long-term basis (not suitable as a holiday temp job).

Important: To apply, make sure you do the following:

  • email your CV to Mike at mm at techhub.com
  • put 'I want to work as LAMP developer for TechHub Global' in the subject line
  • include a covering email telling us why you're interested in the role. We want to know why you're excited by this particular opportunity.
  • briefly detail your relevant experience and skills in the email.
  • tell us why we should hire you
  • include your salary expectations - bear in mind that we are a startup, so won't be able to offer blue chip corporate salaries
  • and include your earliest start date

No agencies or spammy types please. We are only looking to hear from individuals who are themselves interested in the position.
