TechHubTuesday Demo Night - Internet Week Europe Special

By Miguel Garcia

Many TechHubbers and regulars are familiar with Demo Night at TechHub. After all, we've had quite a few since our opening and have witnessed some amazing companies and individuals that are transforming the London tech scene, and beyond, with their products.

With Internet Week Europe taking place the same week, we've decided to give our usual Demo Night a European twist. This means we'll be featuring some amazing companies proudly based in Europe (two from Latvia and one from Germany, plus a US company). The usual things that make Demo Night great such as networking, food, and drinks will all be available.

Here are some of the brilliant companies participating:

Recently winning Series B funding in the amount of $10 million dollars madvertise are finding themselves in the greatest transition for a startup, moving towards a full fledged business! The ladies at madvertise are beloved members of TechHub and an exciting and spirited bunch who add an optimistic flair to everything they do. Women entrepreneurs, this one is for you! A company that knows how to reap the rewards of the mobile web movement is surely set to take over the continent and perhaps even more!

Think global networking and social media are synonymous with being online? Meet the folks at LinkOut, a London startup that wants to make the world of online networking work offline. With many leading techies claiming that LinkOut is a tool that will  help the UK digital economy flourish and has the potential to become the ultimate networking tool it's easy to see why such a group would be included in our Demo Night.

Apps aren't cool unless they can communicate. That's why the people at Twilio specialise in providing infrastructure APIs for businesses to build scalable, reliable voice and text messaging apps. Nothing like upgrading the communicative power of your business.

Amooz logo on white.jpg

In an industry that has changed little for generations cafes, bars and restaurants might be hit with a surprise soon. Will it be game changing? Find out with Amooz! Going to their website won't reveal much, as they're working in stealth mode, so don't miss the unveiling at demo night!

The new way to rent a car. So what's new about it?  Rentmama gives you more tools to compare competitors and customise your experience just the way you want it. Surely building and running a startup requires some travel, so why not come and check out an easy way to get some sweet wheels while saving on some great deals.

A healthy dose of information in the 21st century no longer needs to come from a hospital, clinic or even from a doctor visit. The folks at healthloop are creating the best dose for our new social world. With patient engagement and recovery lacking in many countries healthloop is creating a new way for patients to stay better informed and connected with their doctors.

With Partcl.com, developers can concentrate on implementation of their ideas rather than on searching for data sources, building infrastructure and writing an advanced code. Also Partcl.com provides infrastructure with guaranteed infinite scalability and flawless performance. They realtime the web!

As you can see these companies are wide ranging and will provide something for everyone. Be there at the beginning of their great journeys all in one place...

TechHubTuesday Demo Night - July 12, 2011

By Miguel Garcia
TechHub's Tuesday Demo Night is tonight starting at 6:30pm. As always we'll be bringing you the latest in tech and startups, you can find tickets here. We have an exciting line-up of technology entrepreneurs, from around the web industry, ready to present their products and share their expertise with you. For July we're theming around tools for developers and startups. Are you working on something that can make someone else's new product faster/better/generally more amazing? Then we want to see it! You'll also have a great opportunity to network with others working on similar projects. You're bound to find something valuable for your own initatives. Crisps and drinks will be available.

Here is the demo list:

Ripple Software
My software is a high performance web database indexing and event publishing application for the back end to web sites. My primary targets are trading, gaming and e-commerce web applications. I also see a big market for CMS applications that need quality search. For more information check out my blog

Scalarium
Scalarium.com is a managment solution of clusters on Amazon EC2. We automate complex setups with Chef and run some pretty big sites. For more information see our blog

ClickSlide
We prdouce a website that can be viewed on any device with a web browser. For an additional fee, this software can also be extended into Mobile Apps at the click of a button. This is not just for the iPhone, but for Smartphone platforms such as Android, Windows Phone, Nokia, Blackberry, HTC, Samsung (Bada) and WAP enabled phones. The product has been built using sophisticated web-based software developed solely by Clickslide Ltd. It is designed for two very different markets: for products, organisations or individuals wanting a low-cost voice on the web; and for developers looking for a quicker, simpler way to build software at a lowercost. If you can produce software by which anyone can deliver a variety of services across multiple platforms, it becomes a necessary tool for the future of digital branding. The fact that it is easy to use and inexpensive is a plus. How much less expensive 70-90%.

INFER
The INFER Static Analyzer represents the next step forward in software prdouctivitiy and quality assurance. INFER is a software tool which is able to analyze thrid party software and automatically identify critical errors. INFER is based on rigorous mathematical principles. It is the result of several years of research in software analysis carried out at the university of London. INFER is now used to check for erros in critical software like avionics code at Airbus.

Scrumburner
Scrum project-managment software makes the process idiot proof- native code that works seamlessly across iPad, iPhone, android, and desktops. We're a startup, and we use our tool in house for our own projects, but it's alpha at the moment- beta coming this autumn/winter. The Alpha signup form is available here. Check our redglassesapps website as well.

Logentries
We provide log managment as a service. It automatically gathers, analyses, visualises and stores your log date from across your IT infrastructure in real time. It gives you immediate access to your log data in a single dashboard and is targeted at developers/testers/admins of IT and software systems where log data can give very detailed insight into what is happening in the system as it runs. Logentries can (1) help prevent system crashes and (2) can reduce the time spent resolving system issues. For more details check out our blog

So make sure to visit TechHub tonight, July 12 @ 6:30pm, to hear more from our demo attendees and for a great opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs. For more information visit our event page: TechHub Events

A huge thank you to our lovely event sponsors ABG

TechHubFriday Demo Night tonight!

By Elizabeth Varley
TechHubFriday Demo Night is sold out tonight, and we can't wait to see what goodies these talented entrepreneurs have in store for us. Tonight, you'll be watching demos from...

wireWAX
wireWAX is a world first clickable video tool for creating intuitive, interactive hotspots. You can add information, images, links and dynamic applications to people and objects... allowing viewers to enter competitons, watch video-in-video, load live data, buy now... all without leaving the video. EMI, Virgin Records, Momentum Pictures and Hearst Digital have all been early pioneers with successful wireWAX based campaigns and proven measurable value to both audience and creator. wireWAX comes as an embeddable player, or a simple plug-in to leading video platforms, such as Brightcove.

Datasift
DataSift is a platform enabling the filtering of social streams in real-time. Built using the experience from developing TweetMeme, it allows users and developers to curate streams of content from social networks such as Twitter, then consume that filtered content for use in their own applications or through others such as Seesmic Desktop.

Fastrades
Fastrades helps you buy, sell and swap using Twitter.
The problem that we want to solve with www.fastrades.com is the frustration often experienced when buying and selling online – the frustration of multiple log-ons, of taking so long to list items for sale, the frustration of waiting for an auction to end and the frustration of being out-bid at the last minute. That led us to think that there must be a faster way to trade using the power of the trusted Twitter network – there wasn’t so we built it. It can be thought of as a new way to post small ad’s and is done in three easy steps

Brand Regard
“Who’s got the high resolution version of the logo?” – this question is being asked in almost every organisation that has a brand to convey, promote and protect. Brand related digital assets are often scattered over various computers, FTP drives or DVDs and when a company grows and prospers, it becomes difficult to make sure that the message its brand should convey stays consistent. Brand Regard solves this problem by giving the right people access to the right digital assets at the right time with an enterprise strength solution that’s as easy to use as Amazon and as cost effective as Salesforce.com.

Geomium
Description: Geomium allows users to connect with friends, meet new
people and check out all of the hottest bars, restaurants and events
in a local area, all in real time. It even shows all the money-off
deals, discounts and offers. Geomium is here to help you no matter
where you are!

ShoutEm
You need your social network to be simple and easy to use for your users?
You want it in real-time, optimized for mobile and location-based?
With ShoutEm you can create and run all kinds of networks for different purposes. And by selecting the set of features that best suits your needs, you can make sure that the look and feel suits your audience.

OVIA
Hire better talent faster by sending and receiving recorded video interviews. Invite: create a set of relevant video questions, then invite candidates to take the interview. Record: candidates record unrehearsed answers to your questions using their webcam. View: view interview responses with your team at your convenience.

Cloudmade iPhone Maps SDK

CloudMade's iPhone SDK gives developers the tools they need to create, publish and monetize location based iPhone apps that will delight and amaze users.  The best bit -  the SDK, services and support are all free.  Developers get access to a ton of services, like the "Style Editor" - a web app that lets you create a custom map style that perfectly matches the design, branding and use case of their map based apps.  The toolkit puts powerful location services like driving and walking directions and local search at the fingertips of iPhone developers.  But it gets even better - a pioneering new location based advertising service will let location aware app developers earn money from premium location based ads inside their apps
