TechHub supports the DEC Appeal for Haiti & #TechHaiti

By Elizabeth Varley

When a disaster unfolds we often wonder how we can help personally. It's easy to feel like you can't give enough to really make a difference, but there are things you can do, right now.

The first thing to do is give money, whatever you can. The DEC Appeal has made it easy: if you're in the UK, text GIVE to 70077 to donate £5, or visit the DEC Haiti donation page online.

The next thing to do is to tell others. You can do this via your blog or website with banners that are available on the Chinwag site.

Third, give your time and skills. If you have technical skills to offer, tweet the details using the #TechHaiti hashtag. You can also attend Crisis Camp Haiti, organised by Crisis Commons that maintains a network of technology volunteers to respond to specific needs.

Spread the word.
