TechHub.com is live!
By Elizabeth VarleyI'm sure we'll see a few tweaks here and there, and the design will evolve too, but I'm so pleased with our shiny new look and logo.
We're in the process of populating the blog with previous posts (especially those fantastic video entries from all of you TechHub supporters), so bear with us, but do let us know if you spot any bugs or have any problems using the site.
Chris Steiner:
By Elizabeth VarleyChris Steiner from Siondo likes TechHub for the opportunities it presents to connect entrepreneurs, investors and the media, also because TechHub Rocks!
Apparently his driver thinks TechHub rocks as well, and they're in India. It's possible that the driver is acting I suppose, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

TechHub update - exciting stuff!
By Elizabeth VarleyWell, we're eating, breathing and sleeping TechHub at the moment, getting things ready to open our doors as soon as possible.
We've been chatting to government again, at the UKTI and we have a meeting with Lord Davies coming up, and we're talking to companies that want to come on board as founding partner sponsors.
Some exciting companies are interested in getting involved, and we're still open to new approaches. Whether you want to engage with the start-up community, you offer products or services just perfect for small and growing tech companies, or you're a large corporate that wants to tap into the innovation culture, get in touch to have a chat.
We're hoping to see TechHub London opening in late March, so keep an eye out here and@TechHub for publication of our desk and membership rates, and the launch of our founder memberships. Thanks to everyone who's emailed, eager to snap up one of the limited memberships - there'll be news very soon!
As so many of you have submitted fabulous videos telling us why you want TechHub, I leave you with this video featuring my less-than-glamorous early-morning visage as I work from bed at far too early on a weekend morning...

Charlie wants TechHub for Day to Day networking in London
By Elizabeth VarleyCharlie Cox doesn't mention the python under the shed he works in with Sophie Cox so I guess it doesn't bother him. He wants TechHub to take the networking scene in London to a new level by being a local place to meet people on a day to day basis.

Welcome to TechHub intern Alex Good
By Elizabeth Varley
We're very excited to have the fabulous Alex on board as the first TechHub intern. He's helping us with all kinds of things from to furniture research to blogging, so you'll be hearing more from him right here.
Here's a bit more about Alex...
"Nut (me) Shell
My name is Alex Good, at the moment I'm a third year student of theoretical physics at Queen Mary University London. As an academic pursuit physics is very satisfying, but the technological applications of science have always been more interesting in real life than the hard slog of trying to answer questions about the universe, by which I mean doing maths.
So, I've been building an iphone application with a friend, I've learnt a bunch of programming languages (mostly to satisfy curiosity, but they come in handy now and again) and I spend far too much time playing with new web technologies on my phone or laptop, which runs kubuntu at the moment, if anyone's interested.
TechHub is an opportunity for me to find out if I want to work, or start a business in web technology, its also a project which I think (from my vicarious, outside perspective) London needs and which I am excited to be involved in.
Right now I'm finding information about some of the smaller details of setting up TechHub, such as what coffee machine can service 150 people with the right coffee at the right price."
It looks like we'll probably take on at least one other intern, so if you're keen, check out the details and get in touch. If you've already applied and we haven't emailed you yet, don't worry, we have your details and will be in touch soon.
TechHub supports the DEC Appeal for Haiti & #TechHaiti
By Elizabeth VarleyWhen a disaster unfolds we often wonder how we can help personally. It's easy to feel like you can't give enough to really make a difference, but there are things you can do, right now.
The first thing to do is give money, whatever you can. The DEC Appeal has made it easy: if you're in the UK, text GIVE to 70077 to donate £5, or visit the DEC Haiti donation page online.
The next thing to do is to tell others. You can do this via your blog or website with banners that are available on the Chinwag site.
Third, give your time and skills. If you have technical skills to offer, tweet the details using the #TechHaiti hashtag. You can also attend Crisis Camp Haiti, organised by Crisis Commons that maintains a network of technology volunteers to respond to specific needs.
Spread the word.
